Ecotourism

Ecotourism involves travel to learn about nature and culture in special locations that are in need of protection. Ecotourism can be sustainable if it is done in a way that protects the destinations. For ecotourism to be truly sustainable, the carbon footprint of the travel and activities would need to be mitigated and food for it would need to be sourced in an environmentally sensitive manner.

Actions:

  • Pick ecotourism destination that fits your interests and budget
  • Purchase carbon offsets for your unavoidable travel impacts
  • Allow your experience to motivate you to live more sustainably and to support causes that are creating a more sustainable future
