“After You’re Done Using this Sustainable Straw, You Can Eat It—Seriously”

"As the world is ditching plastic and shifting to more sustainable straw options, plenty of people are going for biodegradable paper or reusable metal, silicone, or glass versions. One genius alternative no one has thought of yet: a straw you can eat once you’re done using it. Well, until now, that is. A few years ago, the company LOLIWARE released the first (and, so far, the only) completely edible cup that provides a plastic-free drinking experience, and now they’re coming out with straws, too. Created by industrial designers Chelsea Briganti and Leigh Ann Tucker with a team of food scientists and sustainability experts, the LOLISTRAW can either be eaten or composted: In fact, it goes from straw to soil in 60 days or less."
